St. Helens is best know for the 1980 eruption, which was the most destructive in US history. Before eruption, St Helens stood 1,300' taller with a summit of 9,677'. It is still quite active, with the small cone in the center of the blast rising since 1980. Contours every 20ft with major contours every 400ft. The base shading is determined by elevation and slope.
