TIDES MARINE Nitrile Lip Seal, 1.250" Shaft Dia (SureSeal)

Tides Marine replacement nitrile lip seals are specifically designed for each sealing system (propeller shafts / rudder stocks) produced by Tides Marine. They are the only lip seals covered under the Tides Marine Warranty. The outer shell is made of an Aramid fiber composite which is integrally molded to a rubber hinge with a nitrile edge. A 316-stainless steel garter spring is incorporated to distribute loads evenly over the propeller shaft or rudder stock. SureSeal vs Strong Seal The SureSeal drip-free propeller shaft seal is the model currently offered by Tides Marine. It replaced the Strong Seal in the year 2000. The Strong Seal has a stainless-steel band around the front of the housing to maintain the Lip Seal dimensions. The Lip Seal is held in place by a Retaining Ring. The current SureSeal model has 5 or 6 Phillips-head screws (depending on propeller shaft size) in the face with a removable Cap and Split Washer.
