This reversible California Bear pendant is loaded with unique charm and style.I carved the sterling silver setting from a block of wax, then cast that wax pendant into metal and molded it so I can make multiples. Both sides of the setting then get a layer of vitreous enamel (fine glass) and fired at 1400 degrees in a kiln, four separate times, to build strength and color saturation . Finally I take an illustration from my sketchbook, turn it into an enamel screen print, and fire that on the top for a durable, waterproof and vibrant finish. So many steps.This hangs from a 24 inch stainless steel curb chain with a lobster claw closure. Just the right amount of heft to wear day and night yet it still feels substantial. I can make the chain any length.After 25 years of designing jewelry for women I decided to dive into creating a mens line this year. My basic criteria was making pieces I would wear.
