Kahana Bay Fish Pond

Within the Kahana Bay Ahupuaa there remains a fish pond.  It has not been dredged in a while, so at low tide it becomes dry. I sloshed around in the fish pond mud for three hours to get this piece, and it was totally worth it! Original (40" x 30" Oil on Canvas), in one of Howard's custom made mahogany frames. This painting was done "Plein Air," which means outside, on location.  While doing Plein Air, one must capture the essence of each scene quickly as everything the artist sees from color to shadows changes.
