Stilbite var Stellerite

It’s an attractive, highly lustrous example of this rare variety of stilbite. The piece is even more impressive in person, allowing you to fully appreciate its complex crystal faces.Rudy W. Tschernich, who literally wrote the book on zeolites of the world, is responsible for much of the proper documentation on localities and species, making the often complex zeolite group easier to appreciate and collect. His personal collection, comprising 12,000 specimens, was donated to the Rice Mineral Museum, where I acquired this very piece.
