PROSOCO Stitch-Tie Asymmetric
DUAL-DIAMETER HELICAL ANCHOR FOR HARDER BACKUP MATERIAL The Stitch-Tie Asymmetric is used when connecting a soft external substrate to harder internal walls. It features one end with a smaller diameter (2”–3”) designed to embed into hard backup material, while the other end has an 8-mm or 10-mm helical outer diameter to engage with softer masonry veneer. This configuration allows for optimum tension capacity in the connection. In harder concrete back-up materials, a standard 8-mm or 10-mm tie may require a larger pilot hole, which can weaken the veneer portion of the anchorage. The dual-diameter design of the Stitch-Tie Asymmetric avoids this issue by allowing a smaller hole in the backup without sacrificing veneer capacity. PROSOCO recommends performing a mock-up on-site to determine pilot hole sizing and tie performance before full installation.
