El Tejon - Bakersfield, California

Hotel El Tejon was a luxury hotel located on the northeast corner of 17th Street and Chester Avenue in downtown Bakersfield, California.  Completed in 1926, at the time it was considered one of the finest hotels in the area.  What attracted me most to this matchbook wasn’t so much the hotel, but rather the bar element of the “Oil Zone Cocktail Lounge,” which is such a cool name for a cocktail lounge given the history of oil production in the area.  By 1970, the once gleaming gem of Hotel El Tejon was considered obsolete and was demolished.    This classic unisex short sleeve tee is meant to feel like a well-worn favorite right out of the gate!  Our tees are made of soft cotton and are known for their great fit and strong durability.  Besides the beauty & vibrancy of the design and printing, you’ll also love the quality and feel of the shirt itself!
