Kit Kat Restaurant & Bar – New Orleans

Located at 137-39 Royal Street in the French Quarter, the “Kit Kat Restaurant & Bar” was situated in one of the culinary capitals of the world in New Orleans, Louisiana.  You’re not going to get many restaurants that use a cat as a mascot, but somehow, they made this work!  The illustration of the bug-eyed cat on the front of the matchbook is vibrant, memorable and totally makes sense when you flip the matchbook and see that the cat is eagerly staring at a delicious fish (who is mocking the cat by dancing in a top hat and cane no less!).  “Kit Kat” operated sometime during the 1920s and 30s and was known for its food specials and cheap cocktails.  It’s unknown when this bar & restaurant actually closed, but the building still exists and today “Kit Kat’s” former location is a Capital One Bank.
