Owl Diner - Clearwater, Florida

Opened in 1948 and located at 515 Park Street in Clearwater, Florida, the Owl Diner was one of the distinctive, trendy prefabricated diners built in New Jersey by the Jerry O’Mahony Diner Company.  It’s estimated that over 2,000 of these diners were built between 1917 and 1952, but less than 30 of them exist today.  Sadly, the Owl Diner is not one of these surviving diners.  I was unable to find the exact year of its closure, but the structure was demolished and today the Owl Diner’s former location is a parking lot.
