Yes, Swayze BBQ is related to who you think it is!  But the story begins well before Patrick.  Swayze BBQ was located at 2004 Main Street in Houston and was started in 1944 by Donald Ray Swayze with the support of his brother Jesse Wayne Swayze (father of Patrick).   In 1948, Donald Ray married Jayne Byrd, a talented and famous Texas big band singer.  Tragically, in 1953, Donald Ray drowned during a fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico.  At that point, Jayne Byrd Swayze had to choose between her thriving singing career or taking over her husband’s restaurant & catering business.  She chose the business and subsequently grew Swayze BBQ to new heights, becoming one of Houston’
