The Caramel Scout totes are made using 'harness' leather, which means it is intended for horse harnesses and other equestrian uses. As such, it is a tough and utilitarian leather. We will always select the best pieces of the hide for our goods, but you can expect the leather will not be blemish free. These blemishes are not defects, but indicators of a leather that has not been 'corrected' or thinned to remove scars, bug bites, scratches, etc... The tonality of the leather may vary slightly from hide to hide as it comes from the tannery. If the Caramel tote you receive is lighter than expected, please know that it will darken with use and exposure to sunlight. If you'd like to speed up the darkening, give the tote a little time outside on a nice sunny day.
