Born in northeastern Ohio, Jerry Cable, discovered his passion for art at a very early age. Under the tutelage of private instruction, Jerry set out to define himself as an artist. He draws inspiration from the American Impressionists, specifically artists of the New Hope school in Bucks County, PA, and the Old Lyme Academy, in Old Lyme, CT. Through his travels abroad Jerry has had an opportunity to study works by the great European painters of the late nineteenth century, particularly Camille Pizzaro and Claude Monet. Resonating with unusual luminous rhythms of light and color that can only come from a true understanding of the subject, his paintings glow with attention to details that are often over looked by the casual observer. From the rolling hillsides of rural New Jersey and Pennsylvania to Midwest farmscapes and coastal Maine, abandoned structures and quiet landscapes continue to spark an inquisitive spirit.
