Annual Herb Ocimum basilicum   Dark Green Italian Basil.  Large Ruffled leaf.  36" The seeds to start these plants came from Southern Exposure "  Hailing from Naples, Bolloso is a prized variety known for its robust flavor. Its giant rumpled 6-inch leaves are perfect for making pesto, although they may be harder to dry compared to other basil varieties.  These vigorous plants grow up to 3 feet tall and boast pest-resistant qualities, making them a reliable choice for your garden. They are also slow to flower, ensuring a prolonged harvest period.". At Meeting House Farm we use this classic basil to make our summer pesto.  We freeze summer pesto in ice cube trays and have it ready for sauces all winter long.  A perfect taste of summer in the middle of a Maine winter.  Our basil plants are available in 4 inch pots or 6 packs. Available for pick up only.   May be harvested all season long.
