Playing Possum Earrings
This pair of opossum earrings is inspired by the bodies of animals I find mangled in the road, often at the edge where it meet the forests surrounding my rural home. The earrings feature a mixture of red beads spilling out from the enameled heads, adding movement and beauty while also depicting blood embellished with tiny pearl "maggots". materials: enamel, watercolor enamel, glass beads, seed beads, freshwater pearls, copper, sterling silver, thread length: 2" width: 1 1/8" *The earwires are sterling silver *I hand-paint each individual piece of my jewelry with enamel. The pearls I use are freshwater and thus each one is slightly unique in shape. With these things in mind, please understand each pendant may have slight differences from the one pictured.
