Shiny Guts Necklace

This rabbit necklace is inspired by the bodies of animals I find mangled in the road, often at the edge where it meets the forests surrounding my rural home. The pendant features a mixture of red beads and sequins spilling out from the body, adding shimmery dimension and beauty while also depicting blood and guts. The enameled rabbit is set on a sterling silver backing that has a heart cut out for a colorful surprise on the pendant's back, as well as to serve as a reminder of the sweet lives of the deceased little critters. The pendant hangs from hand-braided embroidery floss and is finished off with a rustic knot. materials: enamel, watercolor enamel, copper, sequins, glass beads, seed beads, sterling silver, embroidery thread necklace length: 27 1/2" pendant length: 2 1/4" pendant width: 2 1/2" *I hand-paint each individual piece of my jewelry with enamel.
