Blanc de Blancs Sparkling
From the vineyards of Los Carneros AVA in the Napa Valley comes Mathew Bruno’s first sparkling wine. Los Carneros is Napa’s coolest growing sub-region, due to the evening maritime influence of the San Pablo Bay crawling across the hills of shallow, clay soil. The resulting micro-climate is an ideal environment for growing premium sparkling wine grapes. Blanc de Blancs translates as “white from whites,” a white wine produced entirely from white grapes. This style of sparkling wine is inspired by old world winemaking techniques of the Champagne region in France. Exclusively made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, this sparkling wine exhibits the classical styles and lively acidity which Blanc de Blancs have come to be known. This sparkling wine is produced by the age-old tradition of Méthode Champenoise, during which secondary fermentation occurs in the bottle – a style from which only the finest sparkling wines are produced. The wine is then laid down to cellar “en tirage” for over 12 months.
