Winter Lake, print

On a sunny, frigid winter morning in Skaneateles, NY, the artist and her husband sat down to breakfast in a restaurant overlooking the lake.  Across the street, the clouds were parting and allowing for brilliant sunshine to stream through, causing the lake to steam and the freshly fallen snow to sparkle.  The artist rushed outside to take a reference photo with the sun in her eyes and chattering teeth.  This impressionist depiction of that day reflects the sense of both cold and warmth, the juxtaposition between warm sunshine and freezing air.  Nearly perfect reflections of both the sky and opposite shore relate the stillness and serenity of the scene.
