Black Clay Mug

Barro Negro (black clay) is specific to the Central Valley region of San Bartolo Coyotepec in Oaxaca, México. Working this clay into stunning everyday functional objects has been a tradition of Zapotec groups for many decades and it is often finished with a polish so the clay has a slight metallic-like sheen to it.
