Unlike the name, Mute swans are anything but mute. Being one of North America's heaviest flying birds, they boast a true abundance of noise. It is said that their wing beats can be heard from as far as a mile away! These cobs and pens were originally brought in from Europe as an ornamental addition to parks and estates in the mid 1800's-1900's. You don't want to catch these guys on a bad day at the park.
