Woolly Mammoth Springtail (Orchisella villosa)

These VERY RARE giant springtails are one of the bigger species in the hobby and are collected domestic to the United States in the Midwest. Their large furry appearance and camouflage body color make them a fascinating addition to your bioactive.  Woolly Mammoth Springtails come on a damp paper towel culture and should be transferred ASAP to their permanent Bioactive home. Sizes of springtails will vary in these cultures (between 1-10mm) and adults can take up to 2 months to reach full size. Ideal Conditions:  65-75 degrees Fahrenheit Prefers soil substrate with a moisture gradient and lots of organic woody material to hide and climb in.
