Kathleen with Willow

We Are Our Dogs I asked Kathleen to come to the Art Party with her new dog Willow. It wasn't the best environment for a dog, and the security didn't like it, but I thought it'd make a good painting. I'm interested in watching how people change when they're with their pets. Kathleen's face lights up, though in this painting, I was more interested in her gaze and the dog's gaze. 66" x 48" — Oil on Linen Kathleen did take her dog apple picking, though I didn't know that when I painted this. I just felt that willow would have liked the apples, and would be fascinated by them.
