While the AT2020 is a decent mic for its $99 price, our upgrade kit takes it to the next level. This means the mod can be used to repair and resurrect a broken microphone, so long as the housing and XLR connector are intact. The upgrade replaces all internal wiring, the PCB, the capsule, capsule mount, and deckplate. The circuit used for this mod is similar to our AT2020 DIY kit, but contains a topology change that yields a slightly improved signal-to-noise ratio as compared to the DIY kit. This upgrade incorporates a custom-made PCB bracket, and a shockmount/damping system for the capsule, to prevent microphonics.
