Are you ready to transform your MXL 990 into a world-class microphone? This page describes our boutique upgrade process. Benefits Compared to the stock microphone, the modified 990 will have: Smoother, more musical frequency response Higher sensitivity Lower noise Lower distortion an internal switch to provide a 10dB pad About the Upgrade We will install our premium transformerless circuit. The MXL circuit board would be removed; we return it to you with the upgraded mic. Our circuit is based on the Schoeps CMC5, with numerous upgrades that we have been designing and optimizing over the past decade. This implementation contains many improvements over the original circuit topology.
