Regenesis - Emerald Set in Stainless Steel - Ring
After a lot of tinkering I finally came back to one of my original designs. This time they're stronger and more resilient. They're held in place by collapsing the edge of the hole around the gemstone. I find myself drawn to a cycle of regenesis. As I currently see things, we cannot exist without a constant state of destruction and creation, these two forever interwined. Beginning long before our time and persisting long after. This ring pays homage to that. It's materially constructed from the earth itself, with stainless steel being a mostly recycled material. The earth was once destroyed to gain access to the materials. And since then has been recreated and reformed numerous times. The emerald itself is a stone given new form from intense pressure and heat. The textured surface of the ring represents peaks and valleys. The destuction of huge land masses coming together and the creation of something new that arises from their collisions and absence. The green symbolizes nature as I
