Seraph

The Seraphim are depicted in Christianity as being beside the throne of God. They possess three pairs of wings, one covering the feet, another in flight and the last covering the face. There’s something angelic about this piece. It lacks wings, yet captures the silhouette of something Holy. But when we look closer at the piece it isn’t perfect. The shape may be symmetrical in design, but the pattern is anything but. From Nick: There’s a consistent theme among this month’s drop. That of the divine. I was raised both in a catholic family and had the holy words spun into a death trap in the cult/ ring. Angels are a thematic element I was introduced to at a young age and one I cling to— it’s one I’m beginning to explore, but in all honesty, don’t feel ready to start excavating just yet.
