Statute of Kings
From Nick: The oxidized brass give the ring an ancient and forgotten look. Like a desert temple that a traveler stumbled upon during the expedition. The square ruby set in the center of the ring's face looks like the perfect adornment to add splendor to this piece. When I look at this ring (I always hold and look over each ring as I write these), something powerful and wise is stirred within me. As we go through life we make many mistakes. We do a lot well, but we also learn from our deeds in the attempt to continue to doing well. The Elder's Eye is a caring and kind one— not a nice one. In my book, the nice act needs to be dropped at some point. We choose to be kind, not to act nice. Nice is a bleh word. Something reminiscent of a lack of boundaries. Kindness is an informed action. Kindness takes into account our own values— and that of another's— in an attempt to arrive at a course of action that benefits both parties in the long term. The Elder's Eye is humble.
