Hiroshige - Mitsumata Wakare No Fuchi

Utagawa Hiroshige Print shows barges on the waterways near Edo, in front of a marshy island, with Mount Fuji in the distance. From the series: Meisho edo hyakkei : 100 famous views of Edo. This is number 57 in the series. Mitsumata wakare no fuchi (Deep Water at the Division into Three Forks). The vertical rectangular cartouche upper right contains the series title on a red ground; the square cartouche upper right contains the title of the individual print. The seal of the publisher appears outside the lower left margin of each print. Date: 1857 Condition: Very good color. Not backed, some minor fading. Cropped as shown, tape remnants on back.
