Hiroshige - Hamamatsu Station

Ando Hiroshige A humorous print from the incomplete series "City Sparrows Walking the Tokaido Road." The image depicts Yaji and Kita, two popular characters from a series of comedic novels by Jippensha, who are afraid of the ghost they think they see in the yard (the linens hung out to dry).  Condition: Good color and condition, some scuffing and stains as shown, not backed. Date: There is no publisher seal so it's difficult to date the print. The same print without publisher seal is in the  Waseda archive (see link below).
