Kunichika - Yojuro Restaurant at Shintomicho

Toyohara Kunichika One of our favorite series from Kunichika, "Thirty-six Modern Restaurants". It depicts beauties at popular Tokyo restaurants in different locations. Women are shown serving a meal, relaxing in the garden or on a verandah, or arriving or leaving a teahouse. These colorful designs are nicely detailed with handsome interior and exterior settings showing an interest in Western perspective. In this print we see geisha at the restaurant standing on the balcony of the Yojuro restaurant calling to passersby below.  Condition: Print color is good. Print has been trimmed to borders as shown.
