Kunichika - The Restaurant Nakamuraya in Ryogoku

Toyohara Kunichika One of our favorite series from Kunichika, "Thirty-six Modern Restaurants". It depicts beauties at popular Tokyo restaurants in different locations. Women are shown serving a meal, relaxing in the garden or on a verandah, or arriving or leaving a teahouse. These colorful designs are nicely detailed with handsome interior and exterior settings showing an interest in Western perspective. In this print we see entertainers and servers at the restaurant. This venue has a wonderful river view. Condition: Print color is very good. Print has been trimmed as shown, print is backed with Edo era writing paper.
