All the MKIII automatic models are recreations of the classic 1950s NATO specification watches which were made under UK Ministry of Defence reference 6B/346 Mk XI, although this particular model is a recreation of a MKIII variant which we last sold in 1979. Although it is very similar in style to the watches made way back in the 1950s, these watches use up-to-date modern technology with greatly improved accuracy through the use of a modern 24 jewel NH35 Automatic movement with up to 41-hour power reserve and a hacking function plus the benefits of a shatter and scratch resistant sapphire crystal.The reality is that with the budgetary constraints no modern military forces could afford watches of this quality when cheaper models can meet the need.
