Begin by sorting out how you want your composition to look on your project surface.  Cut your paper shapes according to the size you will need. 2. It is highly recommended that your paint your surface white before decoupaging, as this will make your paper patterns "pop." Allow to dry. 3. Apply Mod-Podge to your surface of the area where you are applying your paper as well as to the back of the paper.  Smooth your paper with a brayer, your fingers or a squeegie to remove any air bubbles and allow to dry. Seal your piece by applying another coat of Mod-Podge.
