This sophisticated intaglio etching represents Eddie Martinez's innovative approach to printmaking techniques. Created in 2016 during his collaboration with Flying Horse Editions at the University of Central Florida, this piece demonstrates Martinez's willingness to experiment with complex, layered processes to achieve unique visual results. The work combines several specialized printmaking techniques, including traditional intaglio etching, soft ground, and a three-piece chine collé (a method of adhering delicate paper elements to a heavier backing during the printing process).
