#9953 Day 58 - Alla Prima - Backyard Lilacs on 8" round convexo canvas (in "The Loft" collection)

This painting has been completed "alla prima."  In Italian, the term "alla prima" means "at first attempt". In other words, the paintings are completed in a single session, on location, without further layers or refinements in the studio.  Alla prima paintings tend more toward impressionistic than realistic, while the subjects are definitely recognizable. 8" diameter round 'convexo' canvas - see photos for profile painting in my backyard where I used to live - a personal memory, but one I am not ready to let go of so deeply discounting and moving into the Mimi's Loft collection. discounted (in "The Loft" collection)
