Pre-Columbian Moche II stirrup pottery vessel from the North Coast of Peru, ca. 100 BCE-250 CE. A seated dignitary figure with arms crossed, wearing a head band, and tattooed on the face with excised decoration. Manganese deposits throughout the surface attesting to its age. Some restored breaks otherwise intact. 7" in height. Ex. Hannah Gandelman collection acquired through family descent, Hollywood, Fl. In the family collection prior to 1970.
