(Pinus resinosa) A large native evergreen, with its immature bark starting off an orange-red and scaly, maturing into a reddish-brown color with large, flat, irregularly shaped plates. Red pine can be in tolerant of urban conditions and is happiest in a well drained site Plant on the east or west side of your home for maximum energy benefit. Height and width at maturity: 70’ x 40’ Sun or shade: full sun to partial shade Soil conditions: acid soil, moist, sandy, and well-drained Moisture tolerance: dry to moist Fall color: red Climate resilience (ability to withstand changing temperatures and precipitation patterns associated with climate change): low to moderate Ash replacement?
