OVAL RING CAGE

2.1 SUMMARY  A. Of all the pieces designed by MINTON, no ring has ever taken so long to conquer. After having created the OVAL RING SOLID, a dichotomy of one form was created; appearing as two seemingly different objects, the CAGE transformed into a 3-dimensional structure. Nearly 200 design prototypes later, and even a redesign during its first production into metal, this ring was giving resistance. Until it was just right. Positive/negative, structure/skin...the list of representation goes on and on. This ring is beyond special. A reminder that sometimes the art just makes you work for it. B.
