Jones" c. 1860's, sailing in a richly painted sea, with members of the crew on the deck.  This ship painting is remarkably executed, with rich colors and definition.  This painting is unsigned, and the artist has yet to be identified.  This painting was done by an unidentified port ship-painter, and was likely commissioned by the ship's owner or the ship's master.  The plaque painted on the bottom of the composition reads: "Schooner Charles A. Jones Cyrus S-Kent Master" As written, the Captain of this schooner was Cyrus S. Kent. Captain Cyrus S. Kent was a member of the Boston Maritime Society, and a prominent figure in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, along with his well-regarded seafaring family.  Approx.
