18th c. Chippendale Parcel-Gilt Mirror with Carved Phoenix 1785 - 1795, ORIGINAL
The scrolling of the crest is highlighted by a gilded flying phoenix and Gilt floral garlends on both sides. Retains the original mirror silvering. This piece is original showing oxidation to the rear boards. The mahogany front retains its old original surface with much of the original gilt; (the side drapes, garlends) and inner trim moldings especially. There is an old label glued to the back; you can make out the word, Mass. This is probably an early retailer. This beautiful antique mirror was made England or America and of the Chippendale period. Measurements: 32" High x 18.25" wide Condition: This mirror is in very good original condition. This piece is approximately 235 years old; there is some age separation to its mahogany veneers.
