19th C Italian Marquetry Table Cabinet, Bovine Bone Inlay Roman Figures We are offering a Sorrento ware inlaid table top box with drawers, This wonderfully intricate mid 19th century table cabinet is made of a beautiful light wood and inlaid with bovine bone. The cabinet comes with its original working key to securely close and open its door. On the front door there are two decorative scrimshaw panels of two Roman male figures. On the interior door, there is a Roman Goddess done in scrimshaw as well. The drawers were later fitted with padded fabric, c.1901. This cabinet comes with a paper dated 1901 provenance in French, stating Mrs. Loture left this Italian cabinet to a Mrs. Lemoine.
