We are offering A Very Rare 19th century French Two Piece Barbotine Cheese Dome with a Woodlands and leaf pattern glazed in Brown and Green. The word barbotine comes from the French word barboter, which means "to dabble, splash about, stir up  The slip can be applied by hand or using molds to create raised designs. Approx. Dimensions: Height: 11 1/2" diameter: 12 3/4" Approx. weight:   8 lbs. Condition: This cheese dome is in very good original condition with some light wear to the bottom rim of the dome and base A few small areas on the lower edge of the dome where the glaze didn't attach.
