Antique c.1900 Mamluk Revival Silver & Copper Inlay over Brass Vase
The style of this vase is known as Mamluk Revival a manner of style that was popular during the late 1900's. The Mamluks being rulers of much of Egypt & Syria during the 13th to the early 16th centuries. The vase is a slender baluster form with bulbous body, narrow neck with a wide flaring trumpet mouth and cylindrical foot. The vase is formed from Brass and inlaid with Copper and Silver producing a detailed decoration and scrolling Arabesque designs with Arabic lettering. Dimensions: Height: 10 1/4" Top opening: 4 1/2" across Bulbous form: appx. 16" circumference Width across foot: 3 3/8" Condition: Very good age related condition with some very minor indents & scuffs from age use
