He studied under LeConte Stewart at the University of Utah. He moved to San Diego, California in 1926 were he spent time studying under Maurice Braun. He continued his studies in Los Angeles at the Otis Art Institute and the Chouinard Art Institute. Upon returning to the San Diego area he settled in Chula Vista. Woods was a student of the Southwestern Native American cultures. He is well known
