This beautiful dutch landscape by American artist, George Leonard Herdle. The watercolor on paper depicts a cloudy landscape of windmills lining a still stream. The work of art contains details such as a man standing near a walk-bridge, silhouettes of birds flying overhead, and a cottage in the mid ground. The watercolor on paper is matted and signed in the lower right corner. The 20th C. gold-colored frame is adorned with swirling floral motifs & is in great condition. George Herdle was born in Rochester, NY and studied in Holland & Paris. Before 1913, George worked as an artist and taught at the Rochester Athenaeum and Mechanics Institute (now Rochester Institute of Technology).
