data-exclude-css-removal="true" style="display: none;"> Leon Franks (1914-1970)      Still Life with Tea Pot and Fruit    Franks studied in Paris at Académie Julian and Grande Chaumiére.  He painted portraits and scenery for Vancouver theaters before settling in Los Angeles about 1936.  There he further studied with Fechin, Chamberlin, Will Foster, at Chouinard's and the Art Center.  Franks designed sets and titles the movie industry.   Franks died in Laguna Beach, CA on Nov. 11, 1970 Every summer, Laguna Beach, CA holds what is known as "Festival of Arts." This exhibit, tradition has been held every year for decades. The original purchaser of this work by Leon Franks lived in Laguna Beach, California. We were lucky enough to know his son through our gallery and were finally able to purchase a few of his fathers paintings. We were pleasantly surprised to discover such talented work.
