Farm Friends ARAN yarn

Our Farm Friends Aran weight is a 3 ply woolen spun yarn made from our original pet flock. It includes the fiber of our FinnSheep Minnie Purl, Gladys, RBG and Rosa Parks, Gladys’ ewe Targhee/Finn cross lambs Loretta Lynn & Patsy Cline and Orphan Annie. Annie is a Shetland that we rescued from a covid victim. The blend of her toothy fiber with the natural colored Finns makes a lovely tweedy yarn that feels Irish in nature.  50g 78 meter/ 85+ yards  Soft Irish tweed style yarn with mixed fibers from our Finn Sheep, Shetland, and Targhee/Finn sheep 3 ply woolen spun 3.5 sts per inch on US size 9-10 needles  14 sts = 4" crochet hook size J 10 RAW undyed grey hues and over dyed varieties with plants, insect shells & food waste One skein = 3.25 bales of hay for the flock (Our critters consume 14 bales of locally grown hay per day from October - May when our pastures are resting.
