Sheep to Skein January 17 2026 9am-2pm

May 16 --  9am-2pm Mitchell Wool Co. Farm, 4068 Hough Rd, Dryden, MI 48428, USA Have you driven past our farm and wonder what it takes to turn the fleece of a sheep into a skein of yarn?  Many steps!  We love nothing more than educating the public on what it means to be a true sheep to skein company.  In this one day intensive you will learn:  different breeds of sheep found on Mitchell Wool Farm  difference in fiber produced by the breeds we have what time of year we sheer and why  what goes into sheering  the many steps beyond sheering involved to turn the lose fiber into hanks of yarn  you will have a chance to tour the property and interact with the sheep that are feeling social  Cost of attendance is $80 Only 10 spots available.
