Healing Waters This painting was created in honor of a courageous client who shared her story of loss, domestic abuse, C-PTSD, and sexual assault. Despite everything she’s endured, she carries an incredibly powerful and resilient spirit.. one that has found sanctuary and healing through her horses. She sent me a collection of photos of her beloved horse, Thunder, hoping to preserve his memory. Among them, this image immediately spoke to me.. a quiet moment of connection between them in their pond, the healing waters. After a long and heavy week with family matters, she went there seeking peace. Thunder, though blind in one eye, followed her.. sensing her sorrow and meeting her exactly where she was. Thunder lived a full life and passed on August 22, 2025, at 30 years old. The original photo of Christy and Thunder in the pond was captured by her husband.
