Shadow Cockroach (Pycnoscelus nigra)

Shadow cockroaches (Pycnoscelus nigra) are small species of parthenogenetic cockroach that sport beautiful glossy jet black wings as adults. They are non-flying but can climb, so a barrier around the lid is necessary. Despite this I have rarely seen any of mine climb and have heard similar from other keepers. While they will be more prolific at higher temperatures mine produce well at room temperatures.
