A Danish Modern drop-leaf cocktail table in beautifully figured rosewood, designed by Henning Kjærnulf in 1975 for VEJLE STOLE OG MØBELFABRIK. With the leaves up, the table measures 71" long—dropped...roughly 49". It is 33 ½" deep and stands 19" tall. This handsome table is in very good vintage condition overall, having only minor blemishes that correspond with its age and use. VEJLE STOLE OG MØBELFABRIK was established in 1907 in the Danish fjord town of Vejle. It gained an early reputation for producing high-quality, handcrafted furniture using traditional woodworking techniques. During the mid-20th century, the company became known for designs that were heavily influenced by the Danish Modern movement. It produced a wide range of furniture—chairs, tables, sofas, and storage units—characterized by clean lines, simplicity, and the use of natural materials.
